NOISY
PLANET has come on board as a sponsor of
the Art Of Men Compilation
The label Warrior
Girl Music has put together the tremendous series Females on
Fire, supporting independent women in the music industry.
Founder Gilli Moon is no longer keeping the boys on the
side. In the same vein, The Art of Men focuses on male
singer-songwriters. On "Nevertheless," James Keen comes
across as Tracy Chapman's counterpart. JoJo Styles delivers
"Cry of Freedom" in a mesmerizing androgynous voice. Gene
Strandquist gives the set a caffeinated jolt with "Rangeland
Rider." The double-disc Art of Men will be available via
iTunes Aug. 26 and other outlets Aug. 31. This 35-song set
benefits the nonprofit organization Songsalive!

What can I say! What an amazing
night. The Celebration Party for the Launch of the ART OF MEN CD
COMPILATION (At the Mint, Los Angeles, Wed August 26) went off, without
a hitch. Out of the 35 male artists on the Double Cd compilation, 10
performed here in L.A to celebrate the launch. They flew in from around
the world, including australia, the U.K, Canada, Florida and Colorado,
plus some local LA artists.
What Audrye wrote:
Wednesday night, August 26, 2009, I had the opportunity to assist
backstage at the Art of Men CD launch at The Mint, Los Angeles. There
was an impressively high level of professional acumen held by the
artists behind scene, showing genuine support of one another. They put
on a great show that felt like success met with magic. Please enjoy the
uploaded photos of the various artists who traveled from such various
locations as London, Australia and the east coast. Source: point and
shoot camera using available lighting/no flash.
A Fan's comment: This was a fantastic and inspiring evening of music. I can't sing
enough praise for Gilli, her talent, her passion and her support of
other artists and artistry in general. She's a national treasure. The
evening moved from the pleasant, to the outrageous (in a fun way) to the
sublime. Gilli supported a very wide range of artists and if you walked
out not loving one or more of these artists then I guess you don't like
music. Bravo, Bravo and Yay. James Keen with Magazine Gap get a special
shout out for closing the evening on a high, high, high note.
